    Question: An IPv6 network has different MTUs on different segments, if the network is experiencing reliability issues, which option is the most likely reason?

    A. ICMPv6 is filtered.
    B. The Do Not Fragment bit is marked.
    C. HSRPv6 is configured incorrectly.
    D. The MTU size is greater than 1470 bytes.

    Answer: A

    Why the answer is A? Any one can help me ?

  8. @PlasticCone
    September 24th, 2018

    @smithzzz

    because IPv6 does not support the DF bit, IPv6 uses ICMPv6 to determine the PMTUD.

    100. Which routing protocol type prevents routing loops by recording each autonomous system that a route
    traverses?
    A. Path-vector routing
    B. Link-state routing
    C. Distance-vector routing
    D. Hybrid routing
    Answer: D

    what? That sure sounds like BGP to me, since BGP is path-vector imma say this one is wrong.

  14. JDM
    September 25th, 2018

    @PlastiCone

    BGP is considered a Hibryd protocol as it uses both vectors Path and Distance.

    @JDM
    You are correct saying “BGP is considered a Hibryd protocol as it uses both vectors Path and Distance.” However the question does not mention BGP. Recording AS’s is Path Vector routing. This is one of those confusing Cisco questions and I am going to go with A on the test.

    September 26th, 2018

    Which 2 protocols are path vector? EIGRP and BGP, they are stating ¨by recording each autonomous system that a route traverses¨ As far as I know EIGRP´s routes dont record through which ASNs they go through, but BGP does, that is the tricky part of the question.

    How can you protect a device from DOS attacks directed against its terminal and management ports?
    A. Reserve a terminal or management port with a highly restrictive ACL
    B. Enable AAA local authentication on the terminal and management ports.
    C. Configure the max-login-attenpts command on the terminal and management ports
    D. Configure TCP keepalives on the terminal and management ports

    1 dump says A, other dump says C.

    I just passed the CCIE200-101 exam last week. I bought the topic here. The topic is true and effective. I have practiced most of the exam questions, but you have to remember the answer. You can’t just remember it. The options, I have encountered several questions in it, the options for the correct answer have been changed.

    C. Configure the max-login-attenpts command on the terminal and management ports

    I think A is correct. If you just configure the max-login attempts, how does it restrict the traffic? By blocking my source IP after a few failed attempts? What prevents me from just sending billions of attempts via a script that changes my source IP after each attempt? In my opinion only an ACL that blocks all IP addresses but a few legitimate ones.

  27. Strider
    September 26th, 2018

    Looks like A is correct – see https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Security/Baseline_Security/securebasebook/sec_chap2.html

    “A highly restrictive ACL can also be applied to one VTY in order to try to preserve interactive access during a DoS attack on VTY lines. For more information, refer to Restrict Login Vulnerability to Dictionary and DoS Attacks.”

    Which technology implemented on aggregation-edge nodes at the aggregation layer, provides per-tenant isolation at Layer 3, with separate dedicated
    per-tenant routing and forwarding tables on the inside interfaces of firewall context?
    A. VRF-Lite
    B. VLAN
    C. VDC
    D. VXLAN
    Correct Answer: A

    A or C?

  41. Dallas

    @PlasticCone, that website proves it’s A. Quoting the layer 3 design section:

    “VRF-lite implemented on the aggregation-edge nodes provides a unique per-tenant VRF, serving to further secure and isolate private tenant applications and zones via dedicated routing and forwarding tables. Figure 3-6 shows a high level diagram of the layer three implementation for the Typical DC for a single tenant.”

    @Written

    Every time you attempt the LAB and failed it, the Written renews for another 18 months, this only during 3 years,

    So basically it renews once again for you to perform a second attempt in 18 month, if you failed it, you loose the Written

    Which MLD message type does a host send to join multicast groups?
    A. Join/Prune
    B. Done
    C. Hello
    D. Query
    E. Assert
    F. Report

    Answer: F

    However the IEEE RFC Document says the following under 3.6. Multicast Address

    ¨ In a Report or Done message, the Multicast Address field holds a
    specific IPv6 multicast address to which the message sender is
    listening or is ceasing to listen, respectively.¨

    So basically Done or Report are a proper answer.

    Anyone can elaborate on this?

    Agree with Dallas. It’s in that document but wording suggests vrf-lite.

    @JDM
    Re: Which MLD message type does a host send to join multicast groups.
    you are over-analyzing this. Simply join is done by Report.
    read that sentence from RFC again. it says message holds a field for join or cease RESPECTIVELY. so in Report message that field is used for join. in Done, that field is used for cease.
